The Punta Aderci Reserve was established with LR. N. 9 of the 20.02.1998. The protected area is the first reserve established in Abruzzo in the coastal strip and is born from the need to reconcile the naturalistic aspect of 'area with the tourist, on the usability of the beaches.
The Reserve has an area of about 285 ha, the most interesting natural area is the beach of Punta Penna, a marine amphitheater that is home to many plant species typical coastal dune ecosystem. The promontory of Punta Aderci (26 m s.l.m.) It characterizes the entire area offering a 360 ° over the entire reserve. In some cavities of Punta Aderci you can admire the Halymenia floresia, considered the most beautiful red algae in the Mediterranean. From Punta Aderci the view sweeps over the Maiella National Park, Gran Sasso – Laga and Sibillini : at sunset,with good visibility, one can see the Conero Regional Park.
