The Molise side of the Valle del Trigno, in the municipality of Montemitro, It is a linguistic minority of Balkan origin who still expresses itself in an ancient Croatian dialect. These populations arrived in the late fifteenth century in the valley of Trigno looking for land and labor. The ancient urban nucleus developed around the mother church of S. Lucia, now it restored and commemorated the first Easter Sunday. Through an old path with picturesque landscapes that go up to the Majella, we get to the small church, where an expert will inform us about the history of this ancient people who lived in these lands.
Along the way there will be offered a rich snack of local products, and a delicious lunch to close the day at the “Fattoria Il Giardino dei Ciliegi” of our members and Maurizio Ilaria.
