The Annunciation Park Equipped named after the Franciscan Monastery of the Annunciation, located on the hill above the Valley of the Venna, tributary of the river Foro, that is at the heart of the Natural Park. The protected area follows the small stream, whose waters until a few decades ago were channeled and channeled to an ingenious system of water mills, some of them recently renovated. The river forms a series of small waterfalls and pools of water where you can see the now rare river crab. The paths of the park were also episodes of bloody theater of the Second World War II, when this territory found itself crossed by the infamous Gustav Line. Today these trails are rather paths with a very different spirit as they are part of the much longer Way of St. Thomas, which with its 280 km allows parties pilgrims from Rome to reach the tomb of the Apostle Thomas in Ortona.
