The Majella National Park is always the extraordinary union between man and nature. In addition to providing evidence of an ancient past, the Mountain Mother keeps in her womb also some precious minerals, that were once a major source of income for local people. Majella is famous for its very deep mines, used to withdraw the bitumen out of the mountain. After visiting the mines, located in a picturesque gorge, we will visit the sulfur springs Lavino River. The turquoise waters that flow in a fairytale pond, They were channeled through stone canals to the old “mill Farnese”, used the past to grind grain. Finally we will visit an important Gothic church cistercenze located in the municipality of Manoppello, the Abbey of Santa Maria d'Arabona.
