La Majella, mother mountain of the Abruzzesi, he has welcomed men into his womb since time immemorial. But ever since humans devoted themselves to sheep farming and agriculture, an indissoluble pact was made between man and the mother mountain.
Testimonies of that ancient pact are the tholos, the dry stone huts that still characterize the Majella landscape.
The excursion will allow us to know some of the most complex and best preserved agro-pastoral complexes of the Majella National Park, to imagine the hard life of those men who modeled the mountain with bold terraces whose shapes we can still perceive, in a varied and dynamic ring route that passes through dense beech woods and then opens into breathtaking panoramas.
