Weekends between land and sea, among the scents of herbs along the scenic trails of the Gargano National Park and the scent of the sea that breaks on high and white rocky coast where there are fascinating natural cavities.
PROGRAMMA WEEK-END 2-3 JULY
SATURDAY 2 July
Ore 5.45 Rally participants and departure from the Visitor Center of the Botanical Garden and the Mediterranean Coastal Biotope of San Salvo Marina
Ore 8.30 Arrival in Vieste, Boarding a catamaran and tour of the caves along the coast between Vieste and Mattinata, i 20 km most beautiful of the Gargano coast, rich in sea caves, coves accessible only by sea, high cliffs, watchtowers, stacks and islets.
Ore 11.00 Landing in Vignanotica bay and hike along the trail from Vignanotica Bay of Mergoli (5 km - Disl. 140 mt – 2 ore). This panoramic path that winds through pines and olive trees overhanging the high limestone cliffs, It will give us breathtaking views of the Adriatic Sea and the east coast of the Gargano promontory.
Ore 13.00 Back in Vignanotica Bay, swim in the sea and optional packed lunch or at local eateries
Ore 16.00 Embarking on a catamaran trip to Vieste
Dinner and overnight at the hotel in Vieste or Mattinata
SUNDAY 3 July
Morning:
Hike on Mount Saraceno (ring of 7 km - Disl. 260 m – 3 ore). Interesting natural and historical-archaeological route to discover the ancient Daunia population that colonized this area from’ eighth century. Of this important settlement remain today over 500 tombs in the necropolis-sanctuary, carved into the limestone of the Gargano.
Arrival at the morning beach, swim in the sea and optional packed lunch or at local eateries
Afternoon:
Visit Monte Sant'Angelo or St. Mary of Siponto and San Leonardo Abbey
E’ provided hotel accommodation in Vieste or Mattinata with half board
Lunches at the participants'
