The Movimento Turismo del Vino Abruzzo, in collaboration with the Association "The Way of St. Thomas", offer the second edition of a unique event of its kind in Abruzzo: The Way of Vignandanti - 11 September 2016. This year also our Routes Association of Abruzzo participates as a partner organization of this great event that will introduce, in addition to taste, the world of wines from Abruzzo.
An experiential walk 18 km from Ortona to the fraction of Caldari and back, nestled among the most beautiful vineyards of Abruzzo with 8 educational stops where a team of agronomists and enologists , tell the world of wine and the imminent harvest for all walkers!
Each stop will tackle a different theme, and at each stop the walkers will be greeted by a different manufacturer belonging to the Consortium of the wines of Abruzzo, that will take care of the reception in each of the stops going to submit its made wine cellars but also the stories, traditions and love of the land.
Involved in organizing the event in addition to our association even more important realities of the territory as the ProLoco Caldari, l’Intrepida Basket, United for City, all with the support of the Ortona.
Program:
- ore 7.00 Starting from the Visitor Center of the Botanical Garden and the Mediterranean Coastal Biotope of San Salvo Marina (by car or by taking advantage of its car sharing service);
- ore 7.45-8.30 Registration walkers welcomed with a "Passport Vignandante" and departure from St. Thomas, Ortona;
- First four visits to member wineries event;
- ore 12.30 Lunch at the churchyard of Our Lady of Fatima Church in the village of Caldari station by the tourist office of Caldari;
- ore 18.00 Arrival in Theatre Square Tosti in Ortona, wine tastings and food, and delivery of gifts by the promoters Wineries in all of them walk the whole track.
- Participation fee € 15 with which you are entitled to the Charter of vignandanti to be stamped at each stop in the cellars, meal voucher valid at lunch, Good tasting wines from the cellars participating to be consumed on arrival, two bottles of complimentary wine.
